Routes of Disconsent was made in collaboration with artist Catherine Cartwright. It is an exploration of facial recognition technologies and their chilling impact on the freedom of assembly and protest.
During our residency at ArtLab Contemporary Print Studio (June 2025), we created screen printed wearables that depict the routes taken by protests in various UK cities and the resulting vibrant, diagrammatic imagery overlaid creates a dazzle-type effect. An accompanying film documents our performances dressed in the wearables, as we communicate a message through semaphore, to playfully engage with surveillance in city centres.
