The surreal installation Handle with Care builds on the series Text Prompt: A General History of Quadrupeds I-VI and reimagines these creatures as living, breathing animals. The impossible “quadrupeds”, inspired by AI-art generators, have been controlled and captured in boxes for transporting animals with their tell-tale breather holes.
The installation creates a physical, three-dimensional presence for these AI-generated beings. An impossible-to-ignore mass, that asks difficult questions. AI is developing very rapidly and disrupting global economies with few effective controls in place to protect artists’ copyright.
